with Hal Cannon and Teresa Jordan
The Open Road was a radio series heard regularly on The Savvy Traveler, public radio’s most popular travel show until it ended in 2004. Folklorist Hal Cannon and author Teresa Jordan traveled the American West to capture the sounds and spirit of well-loved open spaces, including the Grand Canyon, outback Nevada, the Great Salt Lake, and The Big Island of Hawaii. The series was produced through the Western Folklife Center and funded with the generous support of the Lila Wallace-Reader’s Digest Fund and the R. Harold Burton Foundation.
